Writer's Beat is undergoing server replacement
The webserver (Crowdgather) hosting Writer's Beat changed servers, and is in the process of getting the board back to where it was.
It has not happened on schedule, I will inquire again.
Patience, Patience...

Images aren't loading for me in FireFox, either.

Per Crowd Gather they are working on issues, And are going to see if they can "restore" functions. There were unable to give me an estimated time of completion.

Mohican.

Hi
I've been away for a while. It's March 10, 2017 and none of the graphic links work. Whoever wrote the code apparently didn't add the alt tags so you can't point at the graphics (buttons, icons etc) and read what they are for.
Any word on when or if this will be fixed?
Thanks
Jack

I think we've been put on a back burner, Jack. There doesn't seem enough action here to warrant the money it would take to fix the problem. I don't imagine it's a large sum of money, but we may not ever regain what we've lost. So it goes.

Really, Nick.
Isn't this a bit obtuse?
Pierce, I try to keep current with events. That they sometimes intertwine as I express myself is just a blessing conferred on me by a muse.
Oh.
Nick, you haven't gone back to ...
No, Mr. P.
This is all me.
Maybe I should alter my handle to Mister Natural.

Have similar thoughts brian. It would be nice to find the click out spot. If the people behind it find that it's not worth funding because there's no financial returns, then the plugs pulled.

I think it takes almost no money to host the site, which they are doing, but a little more to fix its problems. Maybe one day they'll turn it off, but I don't know. The owners don't have anything to lose but the $79 per year to allow it to stumble along. The domain name is probably worth a decent amount of money, and they are sitting on their investment.

C'mon, Kim.
Be one of the good guys.
You will really like us once you get to know us.
You can get that blonde haired, pierce nosed, heavily tattooed former sports player that visited you to introduce you to Beyonce.
And you will have saved WB.
Waddya say, Mr. Jong-un?

Is Mo still the moderator? I mean, I saw him stop by a while back and poke in, but he's been silent mostly. Maybe we're just less in need of wrangling lately.
I guess proceed with the dick pics, fellas. It's party time!

1. I've been very busy
2. Most have been well behaved or restrained
3. Crowdgather seems less than motivated to fix this place
4. There's not even a teeny tiny issue with the dick picks you've posted. They look like a ghost eating marshmellows in a blizzard. A truly effervescent effort on your part
5.ll the different types reacting to The Trump-A-Palooza or the Trump-Acolypse I have zipped through a novella. I might even share a bit of it after a bit of cleanup work.

I'm not having any real issues with this site (accessed through Chrome). I've got used to it.
There still seems to be a worthwhile hit-count, despite only a hardcore of a few regular members.
I have never used another writing site, or been involved in any other forum.
Nor would I.
If there are new writers out there who genuinely want to develop their writing and build up an audience - this IS the place to come - but i'm not sure that they realise the growth comes through READING and analysing other people's work. If you can't appreciate or critique someone else's writing constructively, you'll never be able to measure your own progress and make headway as a writer. The smart cookies read, absorb, interact and practice. This site used to be rich with them, and the boards moved at lightning speed.
A few more new writers with serious intent would have this place buzzing again.

Bluewpc stepped in a bit. He's serious. I think he's on a backpack trip in Serbia or some place right now.
I just finished his first novel. Wow. What a mind-fuck that was.
He's posted parts of the follow-up here. Not for the faint of heart in any way.

He takes work to read. I kept waiting for him to fuck-up. With all the verbose language I thought he had to be hiding something, a fault somewhere. But nope. He's some kind of freak of nature.
I hope he doesn't fall off a horse and break his neck before he finishes Mere.

See? That's the camaraderie that the newbies are missing out on.
Every writer dreams of reaching a standard when their contemporaries are longing for their ugly and premature demise.
I'm right behind your book BP. I've bought candles to melt and a new box of shiny pins ready for its publication.
