and I'm grateful for you - my favourite sardonic cowboy with the good boots, keen wit.. and a drawl that makes my upright English sound like a pair of sharpened hedgerow clippers.

Gorgeous man...shoot a round for me eh?

(on the range...)

Yeah, you're my blessing today. x

"...me I'm just glad that there is a today still..." smiled the goblin who often forget that all life is built on a mere assumption of certainty, not that life ever owed one anything really, adding "...where there is life there is hope still, and where there is no life there is peace by it..."

This is nice. I woke up this Sunday and the roof is still over my head. And then I ate some food for breakfast. That also was nice.

Been years since those two things didn't happen every morning but my body ain't forgot those times.

Looks like the start of a good day.

Everything's really amazing right now; it's good to take time and realize it. We haven't had an active draft in this country in more than 40 years and that's a good thing.

Our ancient, ailing cat had another reprieve at the vets.

I can put the executioner's mask back in the drawer for now...

God is good.
Pet insurance helps.

Grateful I made it through another day of work to come home and read the way Grace wrote about her cat.

Walked two miles yesterday evening. This morning I am able to get out of bed with no unusual aches or pains.

Now that is grand.

Grateful for my spontaneity -

...the sort that got me tearing up the sitting-room carpet on a whim.

Grateful for my physical strength

...still hauling bales of it outside - undeterred by a blunt Stanley knife and a sneaking suspicion that this isn't a ten minute job

Grateful for my Mexican joie de vivre

...arriba, arriba! .. underlay underlay!

Grateful I only had to get up once last night (and that that has been the case a few nights preceding).

Glad to hear your good lady is making concessions in light of your last birthday milestone.

Way to go though Nick...

I wanna write something about how she still can't stop a pig in an alley but I feel such a statement borders on boorish thus I shall keep my response to my self.

Mr. Pierce, should I be thankin' Sarah Millican for the pig gag?

It would be the polite thing to do, Nick.

Okay. Thanks you big, beautiful, Bukowski mouthed Brit.

I'm grateful for McDonalds tonight...

the quandary of shopping, cooking and washing-up all ended by yelling into an intercom ...

driving home feeling dirty and ashamed of my brief tango with that nutritional prostitute that didn't love me long time...

I need a bath and something else to eat now....

Dear God, what have I turned into?

I have customer who winters here in Phoenix who is a commercial Salmon fisherman. He has a dozen boats. He brought some fresh salmon last winter and gave me a bunch. After showing me how to pick the bones out and advising me on cooking methods I can no longer enjoy the crap the grocery store calls salmon. I have dreams of it still.

Grateful Kick Ass Class is free and that lately I am the only student.

Today we will be exploring Seoi Nage and Tai-otoshi further.

This evening I may find myself grateful for the invention of Advil.

I bought some "Atlantic" salmon Friday at Whole Foods and it wasn't good. My brother informed me that all salmon labeled "Atlantic" salmon is actually farm raised. It's illegal to fish for salmon in the Atlantic. Farm raised might have been on the little placard, but I didn't see it.

Hoping to erase the experience, I ordered what was supposed to be pacific "wild caught" salmon at a restaurant last night. And it wasn't cheap. The texture was an improvement, and although it was cooked and seasoned well, it didn't taste much better. Just didn't have that unique salmon flavor...

Grateful I don't feel beat up enough to require the afore referenced Advil.

Now to rest and await Monday morning so I can go to the job I like.

And after work I am gonna show my gratitude for years of consideration as I did pools by droppin' off some useable gear at the place I got chlorine and such.

Treat me good I treat you better is more than just a cute slogan for some of us.

What? Too preachy?

Sorry (how do I type that with a British inflection?).

Just dropped my wife at work in this 6am morning. While she was getting out of the truck I happened to look at my 66 year old hands and noticed all the fingers (and both thumbs) are still on them. Remarkable (to me) when all that they have been through is considered.

And now I am going to use them to drop some organic blueberries that came all the way to Florida from the state of Washington onto some cereal.

Then these hands are gonna help get that stuff into this body.

What a wonderful system and yeah, I'm grateful for it.

'Wild caught' seems to be the indicator of good salmon. But often it is hard to tell because the salmon is covered with sauces that hide the wonderful taste Many salmon would dissagree and would side with those who don't eat salmon. But I digress, I am greatful for salmon and Tuna stakes. If the BIg Guy made anything better he kept it for himself.
