This writing site
where I post what I write
is takin' a crap
Well yesterday ain't today
and
tomorrow is what will be today
soon enough
So, writing on, I consider this life;
Body aging
Plan of moving to the Philippines to live in
bamboo shack on a bought half acre of jungle
growing to fruition
Divesting my existence of bikes and bang gear
an ongoing effort
Seems I've stopped Martial Art training
Seems I'm on the threshold of Yoga and
not stepping across
That's all as it is
and if it all falls apart I continue
to have this moment to push a pen across a page
And really, c'mon - what else does a
writer need?

$100.oo dollar fine for smoking in public places.
Death to all drug lords (lords? what is up with titling scumbag predators "lords"?)
Under 18 years - off the street from 10 pm to 5 am.
Bars close at 1 am. Sharp.
Plastic bags being phased out.
These are some of the current president's actions.
He has an 8 year term.
I'm confident they will have the place ready for me in five years.

Seems some of your most creative times over the years have been related to taking a crap, Nicholas old boy, so S1 is kind of ambivalent.
And what else a writer needs is appreciative readers, so I hope this site doesn't go completely in the toilet. I'd miss reading your shit -- er, stuff.
Write on.

Why not? It's a great way to get your ass kicked in front of a bunch of people.
You might think those little smiles indicate serenity -- but they don't. Inside, they are laughing at you.

Yeah. I have a large group of customers who are yoga instructors and aficionados. They are some of the most snarky unenlightened people I've ever met. I'm not saying all yoga people are that way and they're always nice on the surface, but...
Edit: the guys always like going to do work at the studio so they can ogle all the young jigglies. No shortage of volunteers.

The World is full of unpleasant bastards.
The ones that do Yoga are just more fit and flexible bastards than others.
Not sure what they can laugh at when Nick becomes as supple as a teenager with stunning muscle tone.

Yeah -- I was kind of joking and I'm sure all yoga classes aren't like that.
But a couple of years back I played adult league soccer. I thought it was going to be other dads -- like real adults -- but some of the players were right out of college. I kept up OK aerobically -- but I was always stiff and sore. Someone suggested yoga so I signed up for a beginners class.
I mistakenly thought it would be for actual beginners and there would be an instructional element -- but no. Apparently I was just some doofus who didn't know what he was doing and I was crushing everybody's vibe -- even though I went out of my way to be as unobtrusive and polite as possible.
Namaste my ass...

I did the same thing - wandered into an 'advanced' group thinking my daily half hour routine of rolling around in my sitting room was going to cut it.
I traversed that polished floor like a walrus heading for the water's edge.
If the room smells of lentil farts and they turn up with their own floor mats - exit discreetly.

The class I went to was clearly not a beginners class. I've learned enough about it subsequently to see that.
Anyway -- this morning I brought this up with my next-door neighbor. She's a very cool lady -- over the years she and her husband have almost been like second parents to us. She does yoga -- and I have no idea why I didn't ask her about it.
She said there's a yoga class she goes to at the YMCA, with "none of the bullshit..."
I think I'll try that one.

It's a warm feeling, deep in one's leotards, when a bit of scribbling is used to springboard off into personal growth.
And so I sit in this shanty and chant Om,
Om,
Om shanti,
Om.

Years ago I deleted some pieces and yep, this was one of them.
Will put it up if I find the scribbled original.

He's only a few years older than me -- still wet behind the ears.

I could live in the Phillipines - those requirements listed do not sound so onerous to me. In fact, I think we need some of those here
