Didn't see it but I am enjoyin' the atmosphere of change expectation that suffuses this once great experiment labelled America.

After Kennedy I didn't expect to experience that again.

I liked that he stated, with the power brokers from both parties sitting behind him that the country can not be productive if all the resources end up being funneled through Sodom on the Potomac.

If he follows through with action I will agree.

“For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished—but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered—but the jobs left, and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country.”

The guy is a thin skinned narcissistic maniac. And a racist, misogynistic liar.

One would think that an event like the Trump-aPalooza or tRUMP-acolypse could spur some writing....

Doesn't inspire me in the least — mainly because of the kind of stories I write.

Otherwise, I'm on Trump overload. You can't get away from it. Of course, I took the bait and clicked on the thread...

And I shouldn't have been so snarky in my reply to Mike C., but I think part of mounting an effective opposition is to stop repeating or even doubling down on the all the rhetoric that failed to keep Trump from getting elected or even nominated in in the first place. It's time to start focusing on policy — what he's actually doing and what he wants to do. Not as fun or easy, but oh well.

I think the first thing he did was sign an executive order unwinding former president Obama's executive order on the Trans Pacific Partnership. I'm willing to see what he does, and see how much the Paul Ryan/Bitch McConnel Congress cooperate with or obstruct him before I pass a judgement.

As I've said, my preferred solution lies in rethinking the Union, returning it from an Empire/Nation back into a Union, and perhaps states breaking off to form more human scale governments. I still don't see that happening, but.....

At least the opening skit of SNL is funny again. The rest of it's still not funny, but we takes what we can gets.

I'd like to see California and New York become separate countries, then join the European Union.

Everyone is marvelling at Theresa May's indecent haste to cosy up to him, and the bent British meeja is full of the Special Relationship. Although I hear she was mistaken for a porn actress of the same name. Hope he wasn't too disappointed.

Find it amusing how people who recommend rehabilitation for the cruelest murderers and who chastise people for judging others would suddenly call another (in this case, Donald Trump) a maniac and a racist.

Where's the restraint? The compassion for a fellow human being?

My heart bleeds for a nobody (even the most evil nobody) while I piss on any somebody whose political views differ from mine. No way to run a business. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

That's another reason why this forum is teetering on the brink, the horde of phony sympathizers chased away Conservative thinkers with your vile comments.

Conservative thinkers?

I honestly haven't a clue what this means.

Teetering on the brink of what?

Really, what is the point of a discussion forum if people can't express their thoughts? If you find them vile, that's tough. But if you want people to participate they're hardly likely to join hands and sing kumbaya on every topic.

What I see here is a sore-losing bunch of Trump haters who cannot get over the fact that their candidate lost the election. It's not any surprise to me chaos is brewing because I knew as soon as Obama won the first election the "mob" would at least be silenced and that the streets would be peaceful. I've also known that as soon as a Republican took back the White House (it mattered little that it was Trump), the U.S. cities would be flooded with anti-American protests disguised as "demonstrations for the people."

If I had my way, I'd send all violent demonstrators to poor countries in Africa in exchange for obedient and peaceful people who want to improve their lives and the lives of their family members. What you see are "spoiled, angry people" trying to bring down the United States. They don't appreciate how well they have it in this country and they really should be booted out.

I don't see how a country could withstand this kind of division. It will be only a matter of time before the collapse. Then, everybody loses.

Are you talking about the Anarchist group that smashed stuff after Donald's election? They hate Obama just like they hate trump.

And as far as the women's march goes, Americans have the right to peacefully protest. Sure, sometimes when you get large groups of people together there will be occasional clashes.

This kind of rhetoric seems just as divisive as the over-the-top goofballs that are present at any large gathering.

BP, you call military personnel fools for enlisting in the army to defend THEIR country (and YOU), and now you lay that divisive crap on my doorstep. A lot of nasty stuff was said about the President and his wife at the women's march and yes their was violent behavior there. People in the USA don't realize how well off they have it here. But, with all this divisiveness, the end is inevitable.

Pretty sure it was Lincoln who stated: "A house divided cannot stand." You are witnessing the foundation beginning to sway.

Peaceful protests? What news station have you been watching. Instigators easily infiltrating protests, whipping young minds into a violent frenzy. That isn't peaceful--that is "progress being made according to the plan."

You may disguise the fact whichever way you want, but brace yourself America for a very bumpy ride.

When Obama and his cronies forced all kinds of crap down the throats of the other half of US citizens, did you see them take to the streets causing damage to property?

This is a well-planned effort by far-left Liberals to cause chaos in the United States to diminish the role of Donald Trump as president.

I wish Trump weren't President. In fact, I'm not keen at all that billionaires should be running the country, but just as you say about peaceful protestors having a right to do their thing, Trump has a right to be President because like the protestors-- he TOO is a United States citizen.
