That's the plan.

Was it worth the wait?

I don't think there is a specific word count on this one, BP. Tau references "within reason" though . . . hmm . . . I'd say 3 to 5,000 max perhaps.

You got a fable up your sleeve, BP?

A 3 word fable? Hmm... Now there's a challenge.

I have started thinking about one. More than 3 words, but definitely less than 5000.

Cool. I may have something in the works to offer up. This fable deal has me intrigued.

Bagit is right, there is no word limit this time. There are also no divide between Prose and Poetry this time. After the discussion during the last contest I though I would try to be very open this time and see how that worked. If it does not then the next one will have slightly more structure.

Good to see some interest in this contest and that people are already playing with ideas.

Tau,

Thank you for bringing my erroneous wording as to what contest I was attempting to enter to my attention. Frankly, I don't know where I got "Winter Contest" when the announcement plainly reads "Contest - Fable."

Since my story involves a religious theme I thought long and hard about whether or not I could enter the story as a "fable." I know I read somewhere in my seventy-seven years on this planet that proof existed a man named Jesus of Nazareth walked the earth. Proof, other than faith, has not been forthcoming as to whether this Man was indeed "The Christ." Some 2000 years ago He proclaimed He was sent from the Father and was the Son of God, the promised Messiah. He said He would suffer and die for the sins of mankind and did so fixed to a cross to bleed out his life for three agonizing hours. As we all know, this story and more is related in The Bible. For many Christians, me included, The Bible is sacrosanct, as is the fact that Jesus was The Son of God and the Messiah.

For many others in this world the stories of The Bible are beautiful fairytales. Stories passed down generation to generation, and except for some provable events, is a "fable." My story, based on a miracle, a supernatural event attributed to Jesus Christ by my character, would to some be considered a possible truth, but to many others just another "fairytale."

This rather long winded explanation is why I would like to enter my story in the "fable" Contest. I have come to the conclusion that what I believe or do not believe are immaterial and should not enter into any consideration whatsoever. This story is strictly a creation of my imagination in both context and content. Jim Bergstad

I see, I have moved it into the Fable Contest thread, so it is now entered in the contest.

As for whether it counts or not, that is up in the air, and everybody can draw their own conclusion.

I liked both the three word fable comment and the comment about Bible fables. How about, "In the beginning?"

Huh?

There is not seperate poetry contest this time, just one in which you can enter in whatever style or form you want. so you can enter a poem, or a play, a song or some prose. It is all open.
