It's been a while since I've given everyone an update on the status of Writer's Beat, so now it's time to break it down.

Writer's Beat is going through a major stage of evolution right now. Some time shortly after New Years, you may just have to take a day off of school or work to experience the gloriously new WB. I'm confident that the community will love the new paradigm that we're bringing to the online world of writing.

As a forewarning and a future glimpse of what to expect:

The dominant focus of Writer's Beat is shifting into a streamlined work flow for writing, reviewing, and immersing yourself with literary work.

The Forums will be a little different than they are now, not in their presentation but in what they represent. The staff envisions to have the forums act solely as the communities form of discussion. We believe it makes semantic sense to separate discussion and literary follow-through with presentational differences.

This may sound vague, or even complicated at first, but I assure you that we are making the new iteration as simple as possible, and as beautiful as can be. The goal here is to remove anything unnecessary and give you everything that is required. The Writer's Beat experience is meant to enrich the writing lifestyle, and improve you as an author.

Development of the new version is continuously ongoing and as soon as we have a stable version with enough features it will be released. My estimated time frame is somewhere on the following week after New Years.

Thanks for being part of the Writer's Beat community!

p.s We will have several contests and parties to help spread the news. It will certainly be a big day for everyone.

Sounds, vague and complicated. But I've stuck with you this long.

Hope everything works our for you and the site.

Would I be a jerk to say that none of that made any sense whatsoever? It sounds a lot like what Yahoo said about their home page before they converted from a useful tool I had logged in on every day for 5 years into an un-recognizable "Web2" bit of uselessness aimed at promoting themselves and in no way helping me at all.

Web2 sucks, by the way. It's like a Starbucksization of the web.
