Default Introducing Myself

Born in Alabama. Raised on the classics: Homer to Hemingway. U.S. Navy officer (now inactive). 8 years of college studies. Some university teaching experience. Favorite modern prose: Dostoevsky and Stendhal. (I believe Nietzsche felt the same.)
A half-dozen stories and some poems were published in journals (e.g., storySouth, Southern Cross Review, Southern Ocean Review). One novel, MY War Love, has been circulated.
I like exploring, rock-climbing and water sports. I own and sail a schooner.

Welcome, James.

And since you haven't said "Roll Tide!" yet, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt.

James hasn't come back yet. Hmm...

Maybe not enough action here for him?

That, or he read through some of our posts😳

Hey, Brianpatrick and Myers, I just found this excellent site. I don't know my way around yet. But thanks for welcoming me, and I'll be in touch.

("...welcome to writersbeat then..." went the goblin with a gleeful smile form ear to ear, then continuing his salespitch as best he could to the encouraging words "...and I bet you're here because of our annual "christmas writertype sale" too, well human you came at the right moment now for observe how we have some of the finest house trained writertypes going, where all you have to do is just plonk them in front of your computer all day with little or no aftercare after that bar coffee and donuts, a bed and a toilet, and if this wasn't enough in itself human, this year we'll actually throw in a matching pauperpoet too, where all this could be yours for a mere ten dollars or equivalent in bitcoin..." , and with that the goblin felt that he had done his bit to support this forum)

What the hell did you do? He is clearly a James. My God you mad man. Would I call you Brain Patrack? Of course not, because you have none of the former and the latter is something I made up.

I am frankly disgusted.
