That's the pop-up warning I have just started getting repeatedly -- but so far only on this site. What might be going on?

Not that it's any of my business, but Inklings rarely associate with humans. If you're keeping him or her against his will you really should let him go, before strange things start to happen.

A truly secure connection would be one that doesn't allow poirot to log in at all. So maybe it's working!
