Default Tally-ho, lads!

It is a common misconception that introductions are made to introduce someone. Being friendly and approachable is not the aim of this timeworn tradition.

Truthfully, introductions are a matter of dominance. It is asserting your own will, quelling any idea your interlocutor is having of using, threatening or crushing you. It is sizing up and being sized up and down, without getting sized down.

And you might wonder, as you read these lines, who is this impudent fellow? Is it one of these illuminated, fanatical devotee, drunk on warmongering savagery, who thinks he can give lessons?

To you, and to any who might wonder the same thing, I will answer this:

I am the Duke de Puce, also known as Nick in a dreadfully small circle of humans called friends.

As you might have guessed from the (pen) name, I am French.
I am also an electrical Engineer working in a foreign land in which, abundantly, have grown myths and potatoes.

I am here mainly to give what I hope are interesting reviews and to improve my writing by doing so. I am a little reluctant to post anything, since I believe what I write is currently sub-par.

It is quite nice meeting you all, and I am really looking forward to reading this treasure trove of literature!

So, without further ado, I shall take my leave.
See you around!

Oh, the agony! Are my eyes deceiving me or is this sorcery? Is this genuine cheering , or is it snakes hissing?

Thank you for this warm welcome, kind Sir!

Ouch ouch ouch!

Oh my, a thousand apologies, in France Gabriel is masculine and Gabrielle is the feminine version. That's what had me confused here. Though maybe they are used interchangeably.
Maybe my brain's not wired correctly.

Well then, M'Lady, I would not say no to some tea and cookies. :]

After I nurse my wounds.

They just call me 'Grace'....although 'M'lady' has a certain ring to it that one could easily grow accustomed to.

I'm an English/Irish crossbreed living in UK. My French is less fluent than it used to be but Fleamailman lives in Switzerland and will both joyously applaud and appreciate anything written in your native tongue. If you click on to Writer's Cafe, you'll find Flea's editing thread - a charming notepad of random thoughts.

It's busy here in the evenings - the majority of our population are in the U.S

Shout if you need anything x

Welcome!

And I suppose if we all felt our writing was at or above par, we wouldn't be here.

We have a saying around here, "put up or..."

Well, that's not really a saying around here, but you get the idea.

Thank you for your warm welcome, Myers.

Whelp, I have posted something under Fictions.

But the quality is so low it physically hurt to post it. Hoping to get some advice to whip me back up into shape.
