Default It HUrts Like Crazy Now

No one looks at lyrics -- so I'm posting this here.

Lyrics -- plus a link to the real song. It' s a little rough -- but you'll get the idea.

Like Crazy Now

We were gathered in a circle – to elucidate our problems
Trying to keep my good eye open; but I was crippled by the boredom
I said jealousy's like water, it will find it’s lowest level
There was an angel from suburbia, said she was sleeping with the devil.

I hear the whine of cars approaching– the low moan as they speed away
And I'm lying to the waitress who served me yesterday
She said her daddy was a painter, that her brother was a sailor
Says she she's living in her dream house, but I'm sure that it’s a trailer

Chorus:
Now I’m here to say I'm sorry,
but you were right -- I don't know how.
And I'm drowning in my yesterdays
And it hurts like crazy now – like crazy now.

You blew right through my life -- you're a force five hurricane
You left me underwater, now I’m all alone again
I took the subway downtown, to see if I could find you,
You were swimming in the fountain; I was standing right behind you

There’s a man who sings about the end-times, he plays down at the station,
On weekdays he’s a doctor, man I’d love to be his patient
He plays the platform when it’s raining, and the stairs when it is sunny
Says he does it for attention, ‘cause he doesn’t need the money

Chorus:
Now I’m here to say I'm sorry,
but you were right -- I don't know how.
And I'm drowning in my yesterdays
And it hurts like crazy now – like crazy now.

The whole song is a dang hook.

"...a little rough"!? Great song, and pretty damn polished if you ask me. Guitar is slick and subtle. Nice. Reminds me of an Australian band called Hunters and Collectors for some reason.

Thanks, man. I tend to focus on what's wrong or needs work. The production is definitively demo quality at best.

Hunters and Collectors -- I know them and can kind of hear it. I've never done a deep dive into their stuff, but they put out some pretty solid rock/pop songs.

Cheers!

I love this critique.

...and I concur with my very dear colleague that this is, indeed, just like a real song.

P.S: D'you mind keeping your talent under wraps - you're making my feathers look brown against your multicoloured plumage ...

Heh. I have a family nickname -- Jack.

As in, Jack of all trades, master of none...
