Default 80's Fancy Dress Nightmare

Help!!

I've been invited t an 80's theme fancy dress hen night - I knew it was coming, but quite frankly forgot and it's Saturday.

In the UK in the 1980's day-glo was all the rage, but I would rather stick pins in my eyes than wear that stuff again! In fact the only day-glo I wore first time round was socks

I'm thinking glam-rock, much more me. I have the black vest top with rhinestone skull, I have the skinny legs jeans and the stupidly high stiletos.

I have a mass of hair and will be making it BIG and of course heavy on the eye liner.

What else can I do?? Wristbands, leopard print ? Arghhh.

On the hand that isn't wearing the glove, wear a wrist band.

Is a vest top a jacket as well? If not then ya gotta get yourself a tight fitted jacket.

Big, bright sunglasses. With that "Far Side" shape to them.

I was born in the 80's so you could wrap yourself in me. I'm from Australia though, I hate it when geography ruins good ideas.

well, I've been out and spent a silly amount on wrist bands and red fishnet gloves and big earings and beads and scraves and red hairspray. When it all comes together, it it looks any good, I might share a picture with you all...

What a fun idea! I love things like that, and ugly Christmas sweater parties lol.

Leg warmers?

And you will definitely have to share pictures, achem! You can't make a thread like this then not expect to!

Lets see, the camera really only came out after much alcohol and dancing. Most of my pictures I am a sweaty mess lol, too much rum and way too many vodka jelly shots. I will comb through the picture to see what I've got.

Right now I just have a really bad headache! But it was amazing, excellent fun!!

I was going to ask why you would suggest knee pads... Then I drew my conclusions. Good idea, but no men at the party lol

And yes the 80's had a theme, it had a lot of themes according to last night

Because something good always comes crashing down as suffering from your body.

Funxertion.

You look lovely. You go number 6.

I can't drink alcohol. Just the smell and the taste makes me right off nauseous.

Thank you - This is probably the best picture of me from the entire evening, lol. Including the shoeless pose on the drunken stagger home.

I'm don't drink heavily any more. Dark spirits are the best for as they don;t make me ill. But:
4 rum and cokes,
2 double rum and cokes,
a double rum - no coke
and a vodka and coke, as well we six vodka jellys and lets just say I had one of those nights where the toilet actually felt like a very comfortable place to sleep.

Last time I was that drunk I was 17. And the way I've felt today it'll be another 18 years till I drink like that again!

My husband, love him has been really good about letting me sleep it off for a large portion of the day and then just lounge around doing nothing. He's been out to get me some coke (coke always makes me feel better whenever I fell sick) and accepted a sausage sandwich in place of the normal Sunday roast.

Sounds wonderful. I'd never been drunk. I'm a child in this case and I prefer cider over alcohol.

Haha Red, what a champ! I have never been drunk. (Or high, and that's actually an amazing feat these days.) There has been two occasions during which I've had at most 4 Smirnoff wine coolers and that's as far as my alcoholic history goes. I did discover I love Jack Daniels fruit punch coolers but not so much as a buzz, but only after one. I wouldn't know what makes me drunk or tipsy, I was never into that back in high school and I haven't been into it since either.

But ooh! There is the BEST wine my friend introduced me to at Olive Garden that I plan to buy online (can't get it anywhere else) and we'll see what a glass or two does. Or doesn't.

Sorry not entirely pointful but I couldn't stop once I started!
