John released a long-suffering sigh. "Fine, I will take the trash out."
Would this work if I am trying to express something that is done albeit unwillingly? I want the character to sigh and show a sort of a melodramatic unhappiness and resignation even in doing something as simple as taking the trash out. I do not want to use resigned.
Amelia looked at the man at her side; after being awaken in the middle of the night at gun point, kidnapped, tied down uncomfortably in the back of his vehicle and dragged in the middle of an hellish hole that would soon become a crime scene, she realized that as first dates went this was certainly not the worse she'd ever had.
