Life is such procreation must.
There is no mention of that in the bible.

Hmm? You have something against penises? You some kind of penisist?
I personally think all penises should be free to do what they like (so long as they don’t harm anyone else, or infringe on their civil rights).

Yes, I'm against penises. If I were king, I would institute a law that required all new-borns to be castrated at birth. Fuck the cock! I know, Tom Cruise said respect it and tame the cunt, but I say, it's gotta be banned in society!

You do know that castration involves removal of the testicles? A critter can be castrated and have an intact penis...

Yes, but does it still grow erect and ready for sex without the testicles?

How do we get from what Christians believe to the mechanics of the castrated penis?!

Wait... puritans didn’t have sex? How did they make more puritans?

Missionary position. Eyes closed. Fully dressed. Thinking about Christ on the cross.

Renouncing Christianity when she cries out, "Oh, God!" - the cheating little bitch.

Not all of them, and not all the time. Only when they get into holier-than-thou "rebuke" mode and tell you how the sinful ways you're living is going to send you to hell; meanwhile, they'll be experiencing pure bliss in heaven. Or how they'll pray for you for whatever sin they think you're committing.

All of my immediate family members are Christians, except for me. And none of them are pricks by behaving this way.

Pretty sure nice doesn't have much to do with religious belief or a lack of it; and there are assholes across the spectrum.

Would we be able to share these opinions if not raised in a Judeo-christian society? Have the centuries of oppression resulting in eventual emancipation allowed us to discuss certain issues other cultures would forbid?

BTW, I should add here that I do personally believe in the teapot.

Some of the Shakers believed in no intercourse - resulting in the sect almost dying out ...

Well, the fact that we were precludes us from knowing the answer to this question, but I see the philosophical point here. There aren’t really any examples of societies raised on atheism for us to compare to. There are the Japs and the Chinese, but they have also been under the influence, despite their rhetoric.

Maybe we’ll find out in the future.

They pretend they do not have sex. Like someone else that said '' I did not have sex with that woman or man''.

Bill Clinton?

Being an atheist is no different from gambling with fake money. Even if the atheist goes broke, he or she walks away from the table without losing anything. Eventually, when all is said and done, the atheist will arrive in the same afterlife as the believer. The only difference between the atheist and the believer is that the atheist gets surprised (or shocked) at the end. In a way, for the atheist, it's like going through the box of CrackerJack before getting to the surprise at the bottom.

A non-fiction statement.

And that shock is that we end up in hell, right? I was talking about what makes some Christians pricks above. I wonder if you read that.

But let me ask you this:

What evidence do you have that there is an afterlife, because I've seen absolutely none?

brianpatrick, I believe, and I both believe that when we die we simply cease to exist. We return to the state we were in before we were born; non-existence.

He hears voices and believes they come from the dead, because someone says so.

Yeah, and I don’t even “believe” that, it’s just the simplest and most logical scenario going, given what we know about science, history, and human psychology.

I would never say the Bible is useless; it has value, but it’s pretty obvious where the short-comings and prejudices stand.

This whole idea about atheism being a “religion” in its own right is just a way for believers to justify and cling to their old views by saying: “see, the atheists are just as dogmatic and militant as we are.” It’s nonsense, much like the “science” of creationism.

People obviously gain something with religion or they wouldn’t do it. Maybe it’s a deep part of our evolutionary biology, and maybe it’s necessary for a lot of people. I’m just not one of those people. And the argument that chinspinner was making about western civilization being predicated on Judeo-Christian values is true, but like Defoe said in The Last Temptation of Christ: we’re ready for more (IMO).
