Yes, having scanned the forums, things haven't changed for the most part. Only really the people - I've noticed Lin and Mike aren't here anymore, or at least recently, for instance. Glad to see you again, though, DK!

Hey, SW!! Welcome back, however briefly. How are you?

Mike and Lin are about here somewhere... Check the picture thread and the IT.

Well, I've been here two months, and have only just found this place. Guess I have a blind spot for stickied threads

Sooo.... Hi! This place still serving at this time of night? A cuppa tea would be golden.

Since it's me serving, it's strictly coffee, strong, hot and freshly pressed.
One espresso coming up.

Mmmm, coffee cake with espresso. Sounds delicious.

And the buzz lessens if you get used to it.

I need a decent cup of tea and a lack of Christmas decorations/food/grottos. Please tell me this corner of the internet is still sane and isn't celebrating Christmas yet!

Boy howdy, you ain't a' woofin'! When the fireworks tents went up in parking lots all over town in June, I said nothing. When the bagged Halloween candy began appearing in giant bins in grocery stores in August, I kept my mouth shut. But now, in September, there is tinsel and colored lights and plastic Santas that sing when you walk past them and I may have to look into buying a gun.

While I enjoy my seven day waiting period, I'll take an Americano with raw sugar.

Hi Everone,
I'm sort of new here and wanted to meet you all. Does anyone live around the Chicago area? What part of the world do you all live in?

Loving a caramel frappe' just now. Love that I lived in Seattle, WA. for twenty years and a little sad that I now live in K.C. MO. Hopefully I will sell this burden before the springtime and go back home to TN. (east TN that is...mountains, lakes and fine horses, everything a G.irl R.aised I.n T.he S.outh...Grits, needs). Nice to be here with all y'all! Good to see you too Maidahl...how's every little thing with you goin'?

Always...Gritsy

@Gritsy: You are quite the coolest member of Seattle that I know.

Every little thing is absurdly haywire.

Just bought a coffee machine thing for someone I hate.
Mwahahaha. May they be forever disappointed every morning, as I am by the same coffee machine thing and e-cigs and life in general. MWAHAHAHA.

Thanks Maidahl,

That's one of the sweetest things anyone had said to me in a while. I think that you are pretty cool too. I bought my first espresso machine about 25 years ago (wow has it been that long?). Starbucks had been out there for about ten years already I guess...something like that. Anyhow, I make them at home now as the expense is much to much to buy them on any kind of regular basis.

Are you from or do you live in Seattle now? I do miss it there. I loved the weather. Hope to see you again in the forums soon!

Always...Gritsy

Miri slips into the coffee shop and puts her stuff on a nice, comfy chair.

Ok, this has to be the place for a nice hot chocolate with extra whipped cream, right?

I live in L.A. and I am itching of wanderlust. Anyways. I am at Starbucks with a migraine drinking sugar and I just ordered ice water because the guy across from me told me sugar makes things worse.

What's with Seattle? What was it like for you, social life? Peer group in your immediate are? Emotional effects of the weather? What the night is really like?

I'm looking to move. I have a job working from "home" now so... I go to school but I don't need to stay there. We'll see. Not that I'll move to Seattle, even if you sell it perfectly.

I saw this espresso shot machine thingey at Coffee Bean. And I just got schooled on the difference between espresso and drip coffee. Whatever, like, dudie. Don't doodie in your pants already!!! Huh.

I love Seattle, my friend...everything about it actually. Anything you want to do there you can. At least they usually have seasons...four of them. My mother and sister still live there, in between Lynnwood and Mukilteo (which is north of Seattle and close to Everett. I miss it but being on a fixed income right now I cannot afford to live there.

There is also island living which can get quite expensive if you have to go to the mainland for work because the ferry rates are so expensive. But all and all it has to be a little cheaper to live there than LA. The state's minimum wage is about 10.00 an hr. now which is good and I think CA is 10.25 but they just raised it in Seattle. The air is much cleaner than LA. Canada is only 1 and 1/2 hours away and you can also visit there. If you do go there, send me a way to get a hold of you and bring me some Nanaimo Bars...I really miss them and you can't get the in Seattle anymore that I am aware of, only Canada. (hehehe)

(and with that the goblin showed making a bee line for his usual table in the corner because it had a socket for his laptop and because the window view showed a geneva whose busy street was somehow ever in it's evening bisto terraces of lovers and friend who, talking between the sips of coffee and drags on cigarettes, told the goblin that he was an oddball in comparison to those he saw around him, saying "...the price of my awareness is ever this detachment, where it seems that I can join in, or observe away, yet I can't do both at the same time, so my eyes just look on, and my mouth falls back to its coffee then, just invisible in dailylife and anonymous on forumland, yes this is how I seemed to have passed my life here in hindsight...", as a hand goes up to call the waiter who, knowing the goblin's habits, just brings a coffee without ever asking)
