Default Goals for the New Year

1. Finish my third novel (am halfway there)
2. Continue to work on the first with the editor
3. Pray my second one sells and exercise in the meantime.

What's yours?

1. Finish the first draft of my first novel
2. Eat healthy
3. Exercise
4. Write every day
5. Pick up drawing again and not stop at the first signs of frustration
6. Get a job
7. Organize more efficiently to have more free time

And I could probably go on and on

Thank you!
It shouldn't be too difficult, considering there are maybe ten people I actually talk to out of 1200 students. I have a lot of people to choose from.

1) lose the 10 lbs I gained writing my novel
2) sell my novel
3) write a story starring Gaines as the villain.
4) write a new novel giving love the middle finger
5) get a real job
6) sell my wedding ring and use the money to take several European vacations

I don't set New Year's Resolutions, I refuse to. My aims are:
1) To get published in some format.
2) To start a new novel and write at least some of it.
3) Possibly edit the first draft of my novel Dawning Night.

This year I intend to do whatever it takes to publish my first novel. But luck is already not on my side.

1) To be content with my introduction to my novel... It's the only thing stopping me from doing anything else.
2) Eat healthily/drop 5 or so kilo's.
3) Have full focus when it comes to homework.

1. Cut back on my technology usage. You'd be surprise how much time you have when you cut out all the time you spend on technology.

2. Socialize more. I never was the overly outgoing person, but I wasn't as introverted as I am now. 360 days of the year I spend my free time doing nothing in the house. My social circle is extremely small.

3. Study. For once in my damn life.

4. Get my drivings license. I've had my driver's permit since my 18 birthday all those years ago, and I've never gone to take the driving test.

5. Finish the two stories I've been working on.

6. Join a club, gym, something that will get me out there in the world once again so I can complete #2.

7. Save. Save money. Save for a car. Save for an apartment. Once I graduate in December...maybe next May, I'm going to move out my state for graduate school.

8. And once again, same goal as last year, read 50 books. Last year I read over 120, but that's because I don't study. lol. Had tons of free time.

9. Keep my promise to my friend to visit her in LA this spring break. Keep another promise to a friend to take him to an amusement park.

10. Work on my temper...I think this should be number 1, since it's my greatest flaw.

So to work on #1, I'm logging off now.

Resolute2011 Part 1: Get through this first draft of my novel. I've been putting this one on hold long enough... the idea is there, waiting.

Resolute2011 Part 2: Figure out "What Comes Next."

Resolute2011 Part 3: Be healthier, because it's probably not good when you're tired all the time and your heart hurts at random intervals.

1) Completely immerse myself in the world of Batman comics.
2) Stay healthy/ exercise (of course).
3) Quit procrastinating about everything.
4) Tell a certain person how I feel about them, for better or worse (also ties in with #3)
5) Visit another country. Morocco?

I've already got a car. But not old enough to drive.

I love it.

My goal is ore a way to start the new year. I make my own beaded jewelry that I hope to sell at craft shows and fairs and stuff. I do have a real job, so it's not easy to make the time and energy for it. Therefore my goal for January is 30 days, thirty bracelets.

Good luck with that. I make bracelets. I made myself 3 because I had been looking for a certain bracelet for months, then found the beads and decided I'd make it myself. And then my friends saw it, and all wanted three each as well. I've made 36 so far. I'm thinking of charging them
And my nan's nextdoor neighbour makes amazing fairycakes - they won the prize of the best in Britain. I loved his bonfire cakes (with actual sparklers in them )

My writing related goals for this year:

Get published in Lightspeed magazine (Clarkesworld just isn't for me).

Get published in Asimov's Science Fiction.

Get published in Escape Pod (this link takes you to a great story--one of my favourites--called From Babel's Fall'n Glory We Fled).

Get published in GUD magazine, who are opening submissions again in three days without replying to a story I sent three months ago. Good, right?

To write at least twenty fives short stories.

To make at least ten real sales.

Set the bar high to jump high and all that!
