Icon7 where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

I figured time is logic and so when one is thinking right then one is alright.

So where will you be or what would become of you in ten years time?

I see. Is this anything to do with Trump?

No, it's just good to imagine that from time to time. Keeps me on my best behavior.

How would you describe your worst behaviour if you don't mind me asking?

I would - but thanks to your OCD tidying tendencies, I can't find the bloody gun.

Wait...

a drawer with a neatly printed label saying GUN

...oh yeah, that works

No need for labels if you're properly organized.

Here's an example. There's a shelf in the pantry. On that shelf you will find in order from left to right, canned tomatoes (whole, diced etc.) Then canned beans (black beans kidney beans, chick peas etc.)

Now the different kinds of tomatoes and beans etc. don't necessarily have to be in any exact order; I'm flexible! Just put them in the categories where they belong. Is that too much to ask???

And then you open the cabinet door and on that shelf is... a jar of peanut butter?

Sheer insanity!

I think it's time for flyingtart to come up with a thread that will run forever, full of excitement, wonder, and awe; one in which even the dullest person's posts are majestic displays of the utmost development of the use of the English language, able to bring a tear to the eye, or a chuckle to the throat of even the most jaded among us.

What say, flyingtart? Got any spark left?

(Just to stay on topic, yeah, that's where I figure I'll be in ten years' time: still waitin' on flyingtart)

A good writer should be able to express themselves clearly in language that any censor would pass.

The English language contains enough nuances to make, "Fuck you" sound like, "Good day", is you phrase it right.

Fuck you. I mean, good day.

Who the fuck wants to be a good writer when they could be a great writer? Give up the lectures and raise your sights a little.

They're just asking you to use restraint with other writers and avoid direct personal attacks. It's not really about profanity. Of course you know that, so I don't know why you're playing dumb.

You can fully excercise your "great" writing skills in the creative sections. I can't wait!

I could possibly solve a mystery for you here:

Has your wife ever led you by the hand upstairs ...all wicked eyes and wiggling hips...then watched you pleat and hang your trousers...pair your socks...fold your shirt Benetton style...and then, inexlicably, seems to have lost all carnal interest as you allign the pillows and smooth the creases from the bottom sheet....

Hah, no. You're barking up the wrong tree. Early in our relationship, when my future wife took one look at my perfectly organized closet and sparkly-clean bathroom etc., it pretty much sealed the deal. And it still turns her on, even if her comparatively mild lack organization sometimes annoys me. She's no doubt thinking of the usual alternative...

There are old goblins and ambitious goblins. But not very many old, ambitious goblins.

10 years? Somewhere on earth, doing something I care about. 10 years is a long time.
