Icon6 Hiya!!

Hi I'm new here.
I love writing and am trying to write my first novel this summer. Before this novel dealie I did mostly short stories, and even before that I wrote some cheesy high school poetry. Still love short fiction, and am still moved to verse every now and again. Love horror and action novels.
If anyone wants to give me some tips on writing a novel it would be much appreciated (mostly I'm just flipping through the pages of On Writing by Stephen King).

Welcome to Writer's Beat, kDuBois! There is some useful information in the FAQ, and you can always PM a member of staff if you have any questions.

I would love to give you advice on writing a novel, but seeing as I haven't touched my half-finished opus in ages, I don't think you'd learn a lot. Lol. But I am sure that some of our lovely members will have hints and tips for you.

In the meantime, explore & enjoy! See you round the forums.

Welcome!

Writer's Beat host a large amount of different kinds of writing in the different sections of our forum, which, I can guarantee, will suit your taste/s one way or another.

Browse around, and while you're at it, enjoy reading a piece of writing, critique and be critiqued, and keep on posting!

On the other hand, simply sit back and relax with a cup of coffee - or tea - in the Coffee Shop!

Welcome!

I hope that we can help you to become the writer that you aspire to be. Critique to be critiqued as SW has already mentioned. You will be amazed by what you will learn from the other authors here. This is truely an Eden of inspiration and learning.

I can't wait to cast my eye to your own works. Good luck and happy writing!

Hi, kDuBios! Welcome to Writer's Beat. Critique and be critiqued. Browse and enjoy.

Stephen King's On Writing is one of the most fantastic reference books I've ever read. Helped change my view on writing considerably.

Glad to have you here! I'm sure you'll find there are many people here with varied expertise who'll be willing to share what they know about writing. Different perspectives, all helpful.

And if you're interested, our Prompts and Challenges forum in the Writing Craft section is open for some spur-of-the-moment writing and fun. Prompts/challenges changed bi-weekly. Why not come and check it out?

See you around the forums!
