I thought it odd how 'under God' was omitted from the invocation at President O'bummer's inauguration. See for yourself:

I'm staying with the comedy angle...for now. Those loooong days waiting for a customer when I used to sell cars would have me looking for a laugh. I bring you the Badger:

http://www.ted.com/talks/barry_schwa...of_choice.html

Good talk about modern western society and excess of everything, including 'choice' and therefore 'freedom'.

Enjoy.

I think you picked the one TED Talk that I am not a big fan of.
Okay, there are quite a few others, but I think Apple style streamlining is bad.

Diversity and different products would be fine, if the principle of "Convention Over Configuration" was applied for the ignorant client.
Too many people actually want very specific things.

---

Too bad that it is impossible to get an overview over what has already been posted. Hope reposts are okay because of that?

I think Sylvia Earle's talk
http://www.ted.com/talks/sylvia_earl...ur_oceans.html

and Enric Sala's

http://www.ted.com/talks/enric_sala.html

are must see talks.

each is own. The things he was saying rang true for me... I don't think he negates the positives we enjoy, but simply points out the paradox which is pretty clear and apparent.

It's why when those rich kids on MTV get a new Range Rover in the wrong colour they are mortified. With more choice there is less satisfaction. Extend that logic across the affluent western world. Pretty simple concept granted, a whole book about it could get dull.
