Default green dragon zen center renegade

Walkin' through the
fir tree forest on
a Mt. Tamalpais
mountain side

Followin' a grown over
game trail through the
underbrush

It's 9:30 am on
a weekday and a
light mist hangs

The brush stops
being

There is a space
among the trees

As I prepare
to sit Fudoza
I see it

A Zabuton sized
ancient piece of
burlap
under the dropped needles

Don't know who was
here before but I
do know they won't
mind me keepin'
this space warm

Mr. Pierce,
At our best we keep it warm for someone else or their memory. Been to those woods and it gave me thought. Thanks for the trip.

Not gasso, gassho.

Google search gives you the info via Wiktionary.

The canvas tarp belongs to a guy named Will. He goes there to meditate and top his plants. He is a farmer of sorts, a real green thumb type.

I believe you are referring to an activity that occurs in an area that is further north of this poem's location.

Some call it Garberville.
