Looking back, some say it
was inevitable

The terror had shown it's hand
in so many places, each
less expected than the previous
(really, maternity wards -
retirement homes?)
that the general populace
went from numb
to inured

Gradually a new feeling of living
blossomed within the target group

The debate about what lay on the
other side of death's door lessened
then stopped

An attitude of appreciation for
each day, each other
had evolved from the
now known to be indefensible
viewpoints of pre 9/11 thought

Oh yes, the Israeli iteration
remained constant

All citizens attained arms
proficiency skills and
did their stint in the
civil service

But as the years went on and
the work opportunities for everyone
increased, aided by gratis
government training programs,
self styled recruits for
disruptive ideologies were
no longer incubating at
the former rates

And, as well equipped Eloi
mitigate marauding Morlocks,
I think to myself
"Huh, didn't see that coming"

I've always said: what we should have done after 9/11 was what the ants do when you stomp on their entrance.

Move the dead, and rebuild it.

It can't be terror if you're not terrorized.

Your poetry comes off as you just talking to someone. Yeah, yeah, I know a lot more goes into it, but the end product is so plain-spoken.

Very good pierce.

This ones a little more 'wordy' than usual, like you had three cups of coffee instead of just the two.

New vitamins?

Watching all the various reactions ( to the terror) I am thought provoked in a variety of directions.

This piece is one effort to get it all onto the page.

Did you hear about the guy who saw the ad that said "Drink Canada Dry"?

He only made it through two provinces before his liver failed.

Wonder if Lon would need me to explain this one.

Very good piece dude

And as well equipped Eloi mitigate marauding Morlocks is definitely my favorite line. I don't think that that's what would happen but its still a great line. My bet is with the flourishing of the economy, the vacant spaces in society created by external pressures, would in fact see a trend of increasing IQs over time not drop them, logic being that the smarter people would survive long enough to reproduce and be smart enough to keep their children alive...

Mmm, logic.

Here is a film clip of how things could go if conventional logic sputters to a halt after, say, a couple of dirty bomb detonations, continuing drought and starvation in the current failed states, potable water scarcity, sea level rise of a few feet, ... okay, enough of that, let's slip into 8025 and see how the Eloi are faring having eschewn arms education.

Now I'm not a poet. I tend to write fiction instead. However I didn't mind this.

Probably for the best.
I seen some civilian drivin' vids of the natives.
Looks like they don't need no distractions.

Hey, Mr. Pierce, is this a good example of metafiction?

Why yes, Nick. Is that how you intended it?

For the moment, old P., for the moment.

Default chance

А good poem, you have a great chance. I see you do not have a humanitarian education because you have problems in the construction of the poem. I was the same problem and I was advised to contact one service you could try this out out they pointed out to me my mistakes. And I write a better now.
