Default List of Useful Sites

Hey there everyone,

It's your friendly neighborhood Mick Theebs.

I have decided to start a writing resource thread, which is basically a comprehensive list of websites that can be useful to us writers.

I have Stumbled Upon many of these sites, and I feel that it is selfish of me to just bookmark them for myself. I would much rather share.

Naturally, this list will be ever growing, as more and more sites will be found and posted here.

Feel free to post your own sites, so that they may be added to the list as well.

Some of them.

Others I've just stumbled upon and thought that they would be useful at a later date.

I like Write or Die, The Writing Prompt Generator, and the One, Two, Five exercises personally.

I thought the Fantasy Worldbuilder Questions were pretty good. There were some things there I hadn't thought about. Thanks for posting!

I love the 'Sounds people make and their connotations" - 'brouhaha' and 'gwuf gwuf gwuf' made me laugh.

Holly Lisle, though I've never actually read her books, writes really good articles on writing. Most are very much worth a read.

This is a list that takes you to a list of articles -- easier than following the links and linking them all

William Strunk's Elements of Style--a great resource for the technical side of things.

I have seen a few of those before and I have used one on many occasions (the fantasy world building questions) I'll definitely take a look at some of the other ones though but I'll make a suggestion of my own:

this is a worldbuilding podcast

Seventh Sanctum

Good both for chuckles and ideas. I've actually used the name generators to come up with names.
