are you fleaman?
it can only be a good thing.
I consciously try to be different in my writing but it is a hard thing to do.

I do my best stuff in the Mid-morning hours. Like you, I don't seem able to concentrate as well in the evening. Probably because there are more family distractions.

I'm not usually awake in the morning, so that probably gives you some idea.

I don't do mornings either, for writing or rousing at all.

I write whenever I get a free minute alone. I take my laptop into the bathtub for peace and quiet and I usually stay up way too late. If I know I won't have enough time, like before work in the late mornings, I find it hard to even sit down and focus because time is going too quickly.

Morning. Early morning. I get up at 4:30 a.m., and I'm writing just about 5:30 or so. But it's interspersed with editing projects, too. Sometimes. Lol. Sometimes the editing projects take up the whole day, starting from 5:30 a.m. on.

When writing seriously, straight through. I will sometimes sit at the computer for 14 hrs. with very little break. I've never (until recently) slept more than 5 hours a night. There was one period when I was writing two murder mysteries and a SF book at the same time. I worked for 23 hrs. straight, that time.
I never sleep more than ... I drink ten or more cups of coffee per day ... Hm.
If it weren't for the fact I can drink a couple cups, go to bed and fall asleep within minutes, I'd think there was a connection. Even when I do go to sleep, I'm awake in 4-5 hours.

I had to work hard to be lazy.
Not many people like to leave you to your own devices when they're paying you, but earn their trust, and show them you can work without round-the-clock supervision, and it's much more likely you can get what you want.

"Technicality i always write at night, cause in space it's always dark" The alien was tempted to add' and no one can see you struggle, no one can hear your screams.' but he didn't wanna anyone to suspect he was a psychotic, sociopathic serial killer who abducts people and slit their throats and scoops out their eyeballs with a sharpened spoon and then puts the eyeball in a jar of sea water marked 'eye sea you'.

Evening, definitely. I'm a night owl, I'm evening everything.

Default are you a morning or evening writer

Absolutely, morning writer. I like to have started before sunrise and right all the way through until about 9:00 or 11:00.

Reading at night is more advantageous. It's a time where I can relax and it's just something about the night atmosphere that puts me in the mood to read instead.
I don't like being tired when I am writing.

I would say that both night and day are good for me, though I think I prefer nights.

Lately I keep getting ideas for my novel and they come randomly through out the morning, day and evening.

Default Night writer

I am NOT a morning person. I feel much more creative in the late afternoon and evening.

I try to write in the morning but the inspiration is just not there.

I'm more of an evening person. Once I have a nice cup of tea and put on a Billie Holiday album, I'm usually ready to write.

I wake up. Make two pieces of toast and brew some coffee. Sit down and write for 2-2.5 hours. Work out and then eat breakfast. That's my routine every weekday. Usually after that I don't do any more writing throughout the day. Sometimes I will at night after I've had something to drink and get an idea, but naturally it always needs heavy editing.

how do you mean work out?
and why don't you write throughout the day? is it because of work?

By workout I mean exercise, which I always do after I finish my writing. I don't know why I don't write throughout the day. Its just how I've set up my writing schedule I guess. I find there are so many distractions later on in the day and lots of times I'm just too tired.

I'm a student and also work part time as a support worker for a guy with developmental disabilities. No, not from Copenhagen. The name is a reference to a nasty tobacco habit I've thankfully overcome.
