I agree completely with Rooster Smith.

I've checked out a number of the other writing forums out there, and this is the only one I've felt like getting involved in.
Everyone is very helpful and friendly - especially you, Luckyme - and it's got a wonderful atmosphere.

So a big thank-you to everyone who keeps this place running.

Thanks, But it's not just me, and I wouldn't know squat about modding if not for the others who taught me.

But no more please, I'm blushing and hiding under the table now.

I've checked out a number of the other writing forums out there, and this is the only one I've felt like getting involved in.
I've said this before, but I still remember once when I was at another forum . . . I critiqued a piece that was posted up and praised the storyline (which was interesting), but said that the SPaG needed some help--that the errors in the piece made it a bit distracting and lowered the enjoyment of reading the story. I then proceed to go through and help edit a couple of paragraphs, just to show them how nice it looked after cleaning it up.

My post was deleted by a mod who cited that I was "flaming." Seriously? Lol. I never want WB to get to that point, and we try hard to give a certain amount of freedom to people. Sometimes it gets on the line and sometimes it crosses the line, and we have to step in with our "oh no you didn't" reprimands and consequences--but it is nice to hear that we're at least on the right track for our moderation and decisions

That's just...wow. Seriously, flaming? lol.
I definitely like that people here are willing to point out when something is wrong... which is something the other forums usually lack. I'm not here to try to get praise for my work, I'm here to find out how to make it better. And I can't do that unless someone tells me I'm doing it wrong

You're doing it all wrong.

Oh, wait. I'm supposed to read it first, right?

On writingforum, I have to wait 2 weeks before I can post. Other sites are similar. There rules restrict newbies, and I just joined WB yesterday and LOVE it. I can post already

("...I suppose that these are just our times then..." started the goblin glad that writersbeat was avant guard enough to allow each person in his or her turn to tackle their own writing as they saw fit here, continuing "...oddly perhaps, I've always held to the idea that the reader would eventually come here to read, and that the author too would become known by their posts, meaning that there are many here who might see writerbeat as a mere workshop, just a place to get tips on how to improve one's writing for that published elsewhere, whereas I see this forum as a reader's oasis where readers accumulate around their preferred authors...", simply, that the goblin was pointing out that writersbeat was ever forum/venue thread/stage and persona/act here, adding "...a writer's forum indeed but not a mere workshop now, no, far more a show window for those writers who can see its direct potential here, hope you don't mind my mentioning it though...", "...not to worry goblin, nobody normal ever reads this far, so you can write anything in the last few lines then..." went the reassuring voices in the back of the goblin's mind once more, in fact the goblin felt somewhat comforted by it)
