Default The Art of Making Love

I want to poke holes in your chipper front.
I want to ruin your order at the drive-thru.
I want to buy the apartment above yours
and stomp around at night.
I want to give you the bad diagnosis.
I want to delay your flight.
I want to heckle you onstage.
I want to clean the toilet with your toothbrush.
I want to pull you over when you're drunk.
I want to be your shitty lawyer.
Yeah baby, I want to fuck you.

I want to teach you to pray to my nonexistent god.
I want you to give me money for Haiti and I spend it on a recording studio.
I wanna teach you about the healing powers of crystals.
I wanna help you.

Beef, You delivered again! That last line had me laughing out loud. How's about that for love?

I don't read much work around here, mainly because I'm a self-serving bastard.

But I'm gravitated towards yours every now and then and it's never a disappointment.

Good stuff.

I remember when the Sex Pistols made their debut. It was all about that same anger, aimed from song to song at seemingly random targets.

The Sex Pistols are the second greatest band in music history. It's high praise indeed to compare someone to them.

I figured that, hence the reference to the SPs. My comment was more advice than criticism. Anger is Punk, but when it takes over your message, is it art or just a rant?

Can't a rant be art?

Let's not take our differences on to someone else's thread, William. This thread is about beefheart's poem not about our distaste for each other.

You asked whether the poem was art or just a rant. I feel that a rant is valid in art, and that is in reference to the poem, which I adore.

Distaste? I have no distaste for you, friend. You seem like a nice enough guy....

I've given it some thought and don't know what to say.

I couldn't have not said anything better.
