Conversation should flow;
But a man is a secret.
Everybody he’d ever known,
And ever since he opens up
He loses focus, blanks out—
And he would kill me for this,
They would all kill me for this;
So primitive of choices;
Because we’re best without!
You know I’ve usually sought,
A bleeding heart, no inquiry;
With pain and the weight it takes;
To complain, to cry, too bruised.
And you can’t see yourself—
Neither can I, I’ve ruined you;
The knowledge wears me down
And I’m reciprocating at the key,—
Would any care to fall prey to me?
Thus far, I’ve meddled with Time!
So long! Adieu! I’ve gotten to you.
Race, religion, or political view—
You’re someone I’ll never lose,
That is what wasn’t expected—
