Default Ancient Lion

The old lion’s blood still burns bright,
hot as the youngest stalking male’s.

Remembered conflicts no less real,
though behind memory’s closing door.

His pride now, is a feeling not a family.
Although alone, there is no emptiness.

Living in the reality of his dreams,
waiting to snarl in the face of death.

not sure about this piece although the description side of it is profound and at time unsettling.
thanks for posting

2 memory in second stanza is one too many.

Thanks box. even old lions still have their bite and dignity. They still feel relevant and only become silly and pathetic when they try to be young again. Age is complicated.

What a wild poem! Good stuff, there seems to be nothing to nitpick really.
