God Given Talent

GOD GIVEN TALENT

He's a singer
When he opens his mouth
The words flow like a river
Some people say he's got a God Given Talent
He's a dead ringer
For Billy Ray Cyrus
The way he looked in '93
He's got a God Given Talent for loving me

He's got rhythm
When he plays his guitar
The girls scream and holler for more
You could say it's a gift, he was born for stardom
I live with him
I know him better than anyone
I know how good he can be
He's got a God Given Talent for loving me

He could have a lot of women
A different girl every night
He makes his way back to me
When they turn out the lights

We've got a future
Money in the bank
And a home out in the country
We'll be together long after the music's been played
He's a natural
When he takes me in his arms
He makes it look so easy
He's got a God Given Talent for loving me

Whose point of view is this written from? I saw it on your website and it said something about a lady singing it. Your wife? Girlfriend? Neither?

GGT is a fictional lyric from the point of view of the singer's lover. Megan Conner will do the vocal in a few days. We have the track. It came out hardcore blues. Megan is a singer from Texas whom I met on a songwriter website http://www.tunesmith.net while she was in New York. She has been in Nashville a couple of months, long enough to make progress on this song. I think it is going to come out good.

I'd love to hear a finished version of this, Jim. Please post a link (if available) when the song is ready. Playing a little blues myself, I'm intrigued as to how it will fit the genre.

I like this, it's positive, and it flows well. Nice job, I want to hear the finished track.
