Default Trumpís latest trouble

Bob Woodwardís book followed by the The NY Timesí anonymous op-ed has caused a big stir here in the states.

Iím no Trump fan, but this ďcoincidentalĒ timing seems fishy to me.

Iím betting the writer of the op-ed is someone with their eye on the chair in the Oval Office, and Iím certain weíll know the name before weeks end.

Who knows.

Of all people, Woodward would know that the use of anonymous sources should be very carefully considered.

Back in the day, at the time of Watergate, there was a serious vetting process at newspapers that carefully considered the risks of using those sources --- with the best interest of the public in mind.

That day is long gone -- and the trust has been squandered. Anonymous sources have been used in the most trivial way, to the point where Trump can easily dismiss anything if it can't be attributed to a named, reliable source -- and his supporters totally buy it. And in a way, I can't blame them.

In that respect, Trump has totally outmaneuvered the so called mainstream or liberally biased media, to the point where he can deny ANYTHING they say about him and call it fake news -- and the Trumpsters will believe it!

You really have to hand it to him...

It doesn’t matter whether it’s true. People believe what they want to believe.

The trouble with Trump is that the clue is in the name. Nothing can go wrong after that.

I would start a new post, but one of my greatest heroes, Stephen Fry, once said (do not feed the trolls) the best way we can kill people who crave attention is not to pay attention to them- or words to that effect.

I see at the moment, that he has a very high potential of winning a second term, because the alternative has failed to recognise that they enabled/ facilitated his win. It seems strange to me that there is no self-reflection, but then I have to do it more often than most.
