Well, today I offered to start a Creative Writing club at my school. They do it every year, and it's always the Year 12s (my year) that run it. The problem is, I can't come up with enough activity ideas to last until July (I don't think) so I was wondering if any of you had any ideas. The group in question will be for Year 7s and 8s (About 11-13 years old) with interest in creative writing, and yes, I'll be bringing sweets, chocolate and biscuits (good old tesco value). Oh, and our school's an all-girl school. I also wondered what you thought of my ideas so far and what I should do to make them better. I have two very helpful friends running it with me too.
- Introduce yourself (easy one for first day)
- Character hot seating. Did this at drama.
- They write the beginning of a story on a piece of paper, fold it over, and give to the person next to you to write the middle, and they fold it over, give it to someone else, and they write the end.
-The say three words of the story then the next person continues it for three words game.
- Create a new world together.
That's all I've come up with, and they're all pretty bad ideas, so any others would be great, and as you're all amazing writers I thought you might have some good ones.
