Default How to kill my characters

I am writing a horror novel and I was wondering if any of you had creative ideas to kill off characters I plan to have at least 25 deaths in this novel. So any ideas would really help me out, also its meant to be kind of a "real" piece so realistic killings would be perfered. Thanks!

1. Run them over with a car.
2. Stab them
3. Shoot them
4. Drown them
5. Smother them with a pillow
6. Poison them
7. Hang them
8. Electrify them
9. Crush them (like in one of those car compactors)
10. Light them on fire
11. Let them be locked in a car on a hot day
12. Bury them alive
13. Have them eaten alive by a wild animal(s)
14. Starve them to death (Believe humans survive w/o food for 35 days, but die w/o water after 4, but don't quote me.)
15. Drawn & quartered
16. Latex paint the whole body (suffocation)
17. Bloodletting via IV (a grisly blood bank, for example, where they withdraw all.)
18. Freeze to death (stuck in freezer)
19. Baked (stuck in oven)
20. Explosion (dynamite, C4, whatever your pleasure)
21. Needle filled with air in your vein
22. Giving sugar to a diabetic
23. Removing medicines that are necessary to sustain life (i.e. Heart Meds & then scare them to death)
24. Drug overdose
25. Tie them to a car and drag them on a highway

Dismember them while they're alive.
Paper cut between every joint, such as fingers, corners of lips, nose eyes toes etc. Put salt on it after.
break every bone in their body
scoop out their eyeballs with a spoon and poor salt in it, then dump some spiders and bugs in the eye sockets and seal it off.
Use a knife to crush their spine and then hang them up on a meat hanger, and skin them alive.
Lower them into a pool of pirahnas, a centimetre at a time.
Put them into a room with shattered glass everywhere, climb into the ceiling and keep pouring the shattered glass.
Put them into a sealed shower and have Acid dripping from the showerhead.
Snake Bites.
Stoning.
Burst their ear drums. (doesn't cause death, but some form of torture)
Do an autopsy on them, alive.
Put them into a bathtub filled with scorpions.
Make them crawl through barbed wire.
Scalp them, put salt on it.
Give them something to eat with finely ground in a mortar glass.
Feed them razors.
Put Strap them on a car engine and turn it on.
Push them off a building.
Making them drink vodka till they die.
Bury them with their head above ground near some kind of bullant nest, rattle the nest.

hmm.... that's not all but I fear the rest are too graphic o.o

Have them all in one room and blow them up. Saves time and prevents writers cramp.

With 25 deaths some of them would have to be in groups. I say let them fall from a treehouse where they're living to escape the ghoulish villian.

Have them summon Cthulhu. It'd be 25 for the price of 1.

Spontaneous human combustion is always pretty epic.
Also, death by hallucination, and suicide by cop are good.

Watch the movie 'Death Race' and 'The Punisher'... Especially good for you are 'the tombstone' (a metal block which drops in front of other racers) and the death of the guy's second son in 'Punisher'

(forces him to hold an explosive device in the air, attatched to a metal bar on the ceiling so that if he drops it it will detonate)

Also (last 'also', I promise) read "The Most Dangerous Game"... pretty epic ways to kill in that one.

Very interestin ideas thank you! I cant really do group deaths though cause its a serial killer piece so its kind of one by one cause it takes a while for her to get rid of the bodies cause no one finds them until the end of the novel.

Darling, if you need to know how to kill people and you are writing a horror novel, you are writing the wrong novel...

Your going to develop all of these characters and kill them off one at a time or in a group?

How about a quick outline.

1. Death by Chocolate (literally have them stabbed with a shard of chocolate).
2. Trampled by a stampede of tree frogs.
3. Throw them into a volcano.
4. Turn them into Gazelle.

Turning them into a Gazelle wouldn't kill them, just annoy them probably. Although I guess you could set them loose in the savanna and let them get eaten by something...

Try Greek legends. It's filled with great examples... Particularly Tantilus and Prometheus.

I think the body count your talking about would only really work in a comedy.
You lose the readers sympathy when you're killing off characters like flies. Serial doesn't have to mean 10/20 deaths. Take 4 or 5 kills and make them very unique (if your considering a serious serial killer novel).

Let the dective/media connect him to previous murders if you must but don't describe too many in the present timeline.

Death by landscape. Put them in the middle of Saskatchewan, right along some so-called beautiful creek with great plains as far as the eye can see. They'll all want to kill themselves in no time at all. (BTW, Margaret Atwood did a story or poem - don't remember which - called Death By Landscape.)

Interesting that your serial killer's a girl. Why does she want to kill these people? Her motivation to kill or her life story should somehow factor into the way she kills, right? So if she's a stylist, she might freeze them to perfectly preserve them and then do their hair and nails, give 'em a bikini wax, etc. Something like that?
