Default Hi short story marketing

Hello fellow writers, I bid good day or evening wherever you are on the planet. I have 3 short stories for sale on Amazon but sales are slow and wondered if any of you good folk have any suggestions as to how I can market it better? Most grateful for any suggestions. Thanks, Clyde Christian

So . . . nothing about yourself? You just want us to suggest things to help you make sales? Hmm . . .

Tell us a little about yourself, since you've posted this in Introductions.

$2.99 for 56 pages of a blend of purple prose and vulgarity? No thanks. Price, length, style and the two bad reviews is what's killing your sales. That is if you are in fact Clyde Christian that wrote the Expo thing comprised of three short stories.

Just thought details about myself would be a little boring, but if you insist. I'm lucky enough to be single and live by the ocean with my two dogs. Doing the same banal job I've done for years but it pays my bills and I treat it like meditation. My one ambition is to make it big through writing. I've had a few successes over the years but not what I'm really craving. Love Beethovan and Bach, Talking Heads and Bowie. Don't do drink or drugs so I'm probably no fun at parties which is probably why I don't get invited to many. Occasionally escape into the wilderness and get high on fresh air and nature. Are you snoring yet?

Why thanks Daes, you certainly are encouraging! I wanted to make the price cheaper but couldn't seem to do so on the Amazon thing. Love your constructive criticism, have you thought about being a life coach? Bad reviews! Bla, no such thing as bad publicity. Vulgar? Not half as bad as some of the atrocities taking place as I write and you read; or the politicians and the business people who fund them. I see Porn Expo as a metaphor for all of that nastiness. How did you get access to coloured text? You must be so clever! Have a nice day. Yours, Clyde, yes he of Expo thing.

Oh there's definitely such thing as bad publicity. There's also a significant difference between an adage and a platitude.

Bad reviews aren't a bad thing necessarily- if you take them as criticism. Those people were probably pissed they paid so much and weren't satisfied. Take it into consideration.

Honestly, I would recommend editing the piece, adding in another short story for length, getting a new cover, changing the title and publishing a new version for $.99.

Oh, you'll get know know me soon enough, I suspect. Lol!

Just your average, every day guard dog and playful pup, at your service. Oh, yeah. And I edit. Not easy with fuzzy paws and all, you know.

Default Now you're talking

Good advice, might take you up on that, like the idea of adding another story. I originally wanted to sell the stories for 99 cents but couldn't get round the Amazon form which I found to be a bit of a nightmare and the lowest price I managed to achieve was $2.99. Have to give it another go

You have to select 35% royalty instead of 70%. Then you can choose a price lower than $2.99. The other short story would be a nice inclusion as well. Plus, if you're not signed up for Amazon Prime Publishing, you should put it on Smashwords as well. If you want to reach more people.

My theory is that every member is a ten year old simultaneously masturbating and trolling. It's hard to take anyone seriously. Besides, everyone's entitled to sarcasm. They're just words. As long it ends well that's all that matters.

Yeah, except I'm an almost 50 year old simultaneously masturbating and trolling.
I think 10 year olds don't have the spunk to keep up yet.
