Default Deja Vu?

Everything changes
Goes around
Stays the same

20 years doin' pools for a living
That's over
Now it's like before

'cept I got what I like to think is a
good job

Work in the air conditioned part (dude, I'm in Florida) of a
warehouse

Make some stuff
Send some stuff out to customers

In a coupla months a Social Security
check with my name on it may be (hey, you
know the government) may start showin' up in
the mail

Theoretically the process will go on until
I am done with this form

Not exactly

My wife will get it (presumin' she does
the paperwork)

And me - I will be right back where I
started

Wearin' the face I had before I was born

Wonder if I will be feelin' Deja Vu

One day the site will be no more and that voice will be silent.

Ain't life melodramatic?

The answer to that question is addressed in the poem seventeen years old, forever.

I am far too immature to be trusted with parenting.

I guess if we want to live forever, we'd better get published, eh, Nick?

Such a shame to lose such a thing because of a cessation of a bunch of electrical impulses being translated into a particular series of zeroes and ones which hold our creative endeavors in nothing more than an electronic soup, should the power go out.

Everywhere.

We all hope (in vain, probably) that there will be someone, someday, who will be interested in what we have to say, and will appreciate our words of wisdom, should they come across a volume of them.

Short of building a pyramid and inscribing all of our words on the walls, printed books are our only shot at living beyond our years.

I guess I'd better get off my ass and do something about that, and it wouldn't hurt if you did the same.

Bukowski needs company.

You are quoting a cliche.

The title is my personification of that cliche.

I suggest you go the audio book route.
