WB Members' Bookshelf & Member Interviews
Staff are looking at ways to focus on Writer's Beat members and their published work. One suggestion is a Members' Book Shelf, where WB members with 200+ posts can showcase their published work (including cover art, buy link etc). Another idea is to have monthly Member Interviews, which basically does exactly what it says: any member wishing to be interviewed will go into a draw and the winner interviewed on WB.

To gauge interest, we'd love to know your thoughts on both the Members' bookshelf and the Monthly Member Interviews. :)

Hey! Hey, you! Yeah, you! Get in here and tell us what you think, or I'll take all of your chocolate chip cookies!

I like both ideas, I think I would notice interviews more so I vote for that one, I think I would miss something in a Book Shelf (worried it might become too big)

I think if you have to ask to be interviewed, you're probably not worth interviewing.

Thank you for your thoughts, J. :)

Joe, it's no different to any author approaching a reviewing blog and requesting interviews/cover reveals/giveaways/reviews. It goes with the job. Authors will interview authors, writing sites will give members the chance to talk about their work, and in return get to know members a litttle more.

Authors should learn to gain confidence with what they're doing and say 'yeah, I'm worth being interviewed.'

I'm just messing with you. My agency works with PR folks to get interviews for both our agency and our clients. We've even written the responses for some of our less articulate clients. I know how it works.

On the other hand, it wouldn't be that hard to identify the people on the forum who might make a good interview. I'd probably cut out the luck of the draw -- god knows what you're going to get -- and just use your expertise and judgement to select someone for the interviews.

Come, and let Tepidity be my ally,
Bold soldiers my nemesis—
And the meager little things;
They mystrals do without them.
